My Source Highlights: Alabama Public Television and WQLN Public Radio
Alabama Public Television (APT) produced a memorable on–air spot (above) that features a mom's story about her daughter with autism. The girl made a language break–through by watching children's programs on APT.
The audio clip (below) from WQLN Radio in Erie, Pa. has a lot of punch for a 30–second spot. It opens with a listener testimonial about the world music show and closes with a request for others to submit their My Source stories.
My Source Web Conferences
My Source Web conferences are designed to give stations the tools and guidance to build and execute a live, successful My Source effort. Webinars will be held in July and August and the recordings will be available through September, 2008. Each 90-minute conference will be repeated three times to allow for different schedules. Register here.
July 31, 3 p.m. ET
We want to hear your opinions during our discussion of community engagement and outreach. Guest participants will start the conversation by talking about their own stations, but most of the call will be spent in open discussion. All are invited to participate. Register now.

Peer Groups Forming
Outreach and Community Engagement professionals are invited to brainstorm together, talk about hot topics, and learn from each other by joining a Peer-to-peer Dialogue Group. Individual groups will meet for ongoing discussion by phone every two months and via online forum as often as you'd like.
Groups are forming around the signature issues of health, education, connecting diverse communities, economics/financial literacy and environment.
The first audio calls will be for the health and environment groups.
- HEALTH Peer-to-Peer Dialogue Group will meet Wednesday Aug. 13 at 3 p.m. ET via audio call
- ENVIRONMENT Peer-to-Peer Dialogue Group will meet Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 2 p.m. ET via audio call
Email nco@ncoengage.org to join the health or environment group. We expect the other three groups to kick-off in September and will email you with dates soon.
