ABOUT StorySHARE

StorySHARE is an online story collection tool developed by NCO, CPB and PBS to assist public broadcasting stations in their community engagement efforts. The tool gives stations the ability to gather and display user-generated stories via local station Web sites.

Site visitors can:
• Submit text and audio narratives
• Search local and national stories from any station site

Stations using StorySHARE:
• Can customize the tool to reflect the look and feel of their site
• Receive code to cut and paste into their local Web sites

StorySHARE premiered in June, 2007 for stations to collect WWII-related stories in anticipation of Ken Burns's THE WAR. Since then, it has been adapted to gather stories for additional programs and community engagement initiatives.
